History and description
The first steps of the Alborz Spanish Language Institute were made at the Mexican embassy in Tehran. After some time, it changed its headquarter, and some teachers decided to continue with this remarkable job. Nowadays, the institute presents its activities under the management of Mrs. García and the support of both local and native experienced teachers.
The teaching method used in the Institute is based on the suggestions of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and in accordance with the Curricular Plan of the Cervantes Institute. Its name is "Nuevo Prisma" and the main goal of this book and our own is to form experts in the Spanish language and to prepare those who are interested on taking the DELE exam.
With the due coordination with the University of Applied Sciences and Technology, the Alborz Spanish Language Institute holds regularly modular courses in Spanish language for different fields, such as commerce, basic services, and so on. The student receives as well the corresponding official certificate.
The center is located in a two-floor building and a basement. On the second floor there are three classrooms plus one lab for audiovisual activities. In the first floor. also, there are three classrooms, the director's office, the registration office and one small classroom for individual exams or private classes. In the basement we have a multi-purpose room, equipped with a kitchen, library and a courtyard.
The usual Spanish language courses held in Alborz Institute are ordinary courses, intensive courses, free discussion courses, preparation courses for DELE exam, private classes, workshops and tailor made courses.
Our courses are focused in the development of the communication abilities of the students. The oral expression and comprehension, the written comprehension, grammar and vocabulary are taught and learned by the students always in a communicative environment.
The method used is dynamic. Since the first lesson, the students are motivated to actively use the Spanish language through interaction with other classmates, teachers and other Spanish speaking personnel in the institute.
Our students will have to pass an exam about the content studied in the corresponding course. The approval of this exam will allow them to continue studying in a higher level. It should be noted that those student who have completed the Level A2 could participate in a course for Culture and History of Spain and Latin-America, after which they will receive a certificate issued by the University of Applied Sciences of Iran.
The students can also participate in the DELE exams that take place twice a year in our city of Tehran.
