On Saturday, November the 10th, 2018, a workshop was hold at Alborz Spanish Language Institute for all the teachers and C1 and C2 level students from 17:00 until 19:00.
Summary of the workshop’s topic
The Arab civilization ruled in the Iberian Peninsula for about eight centuries (from 711 to 1492). This era entails one of the most impressive historic periods in terms of architectural, artistic and cultural magnificence. In this workshop we will talk about the main characteristics of the Arab ruling in the territory and also the most relevant historic events. Besides we deliberated on the legacy of Al-Andalus, nowadays, in different areas, such as culture and language or the ties between Spain and the Arab countries.
During this workshop, the participants were presented with different didactic ideas about Al-Andalus that can be used in a Spanish language class.
Dr. Fernando Camacho Padilla, our speaker, teaches Contemporary History at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Autonomous University of Madrid) and is also an associate professor in the ELE teacher’s training at the Uppsala University in Sweden.
